Project summary

Amazon WorkDocs (Formerly Amazon Zocalo) is a fully managed, secure content creation and collaboration tool.  I was hired as a UI consultant to help with the development of the responsive web platform. I personally implemented a full conversion of the desktop webapp to a responsive design.

About the client

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals and organisations on a pay-as-you-go basis. AWS has a suite of cloud solutions that businesses worldwide are using to increase productivity, and improve their overall productivity. Amazon WorkDocs was their attempt to bring content creation to the cloud, and help content creators enjoy all the benefits of the cloud. I was hired as a  UI consultant for the WorkDocs project.

My roles

This was a temporary contract for UI consulting and development. I carried out a pre-launch assessment of the user experience and prioritisation of necessary improvements. I refactored a large portion of the UI code and carried out a full conversion of the desktop webapp website to responsive design.

The product was a more user-friendly and efficient app for content creators.
